Where do I start?
Deciding to get a new kitchen or bathroom can be quite a daunting prospect, especially
when you don't know which company to get. Let's face it. we've all heard horror stories
even if we haven't actually experienced them ourselves. Vie are a local company (not a
faceless internet site), manned by real people (I think). We have been here for years and we are still here. And we have a showroom. a physical place you can come to, not a white van with an 0800 number.
To start the process why not pay us a visit to see what we have on display or to pick up a
catalogue or two - we're only a small showroom and it's a physical impossibility to show
everything. Or, if you want, why not give us a call or drop us an email to arrange a home
visit? Find the details on our contacts page. Do you work during the day? That’s not a
problem - we can arrange an out-of-hours appointment at a time that suits you (except
Sundays).
What can I expect from a visit?
Asking a stranger into your home can also be a scary proposition. “What if I can’t get rid
of him," you ask? So what can you expect from a visit from us?
First, we'll try to arrive at the time agreed. There's nothing worse than hanging around
waiting on someone who can't be bothered to show up. Sometimes delays are unavoidable
and in such circumstances we will phone to let you know what is happening.
Second. if you haven't already got brochures we will bring what you need. We’ll take
detailed measurements of the room you want to redo and a note of any particular
requirements you may have.
Third. when we've discussed everything that needs to be covered, we will leave. You will
not have to push us out of the door, nor will we try the hard sell. We do not give on-the-spot prices but come back to the office to work it out accurately. That way you'll get the
best price we can give first time.
What comes next?
After that it depends. Once a particular plan has been agreed we will try to get quotes out to you within a week (if that's not possible we will keep you informed). These are free and
without obligation. We also produce pictures to give you an idea of what the finished
design would look like. The plans themselves, unfortunately, cannot be taken away until a
deposit has been paid, although they can be purchased if you wish.
If there are a few kitchens, you like the look of, for example, it is not a problem to give prices for each so that you can compare and make up your mind.
If you decide to go ahead with the job we usually ask for a 25% deposit to be paid once a
fitting date has been agreed (or on order for supply only) with the rest being payable on
completion (fitted) or delivery (supply). In exceptional circumstances we may have to alter this weighting, for example, some of our appliance suppliers require full payment on
delivery, which might mean that we need more up front, but we will never ask for it all.
We don't require you to sign anything either. We operate on a system of trust.
